Betekeningen is a contraction of two Dutch words: tekening (drawing/design) and betekenis (meaning/sense). A translation could therefore be desenses (design, sense). It is a running series of two dimensional, digital visualisations of abstract concepts and plans. The aim is to find coherence and links by the process of visualisation. During the process of design and reflecting concepts and plans are sharpened. The search for communicating abstract information with accuracy and clarity results in designs with an autonomous quality. The concept reveals itself to its maker step by step. After this aesthetic clarification the drawings are used to support multidisciplinary collaboration and for presenting ideas to a broader audience.
