annual rings

I’ve worked on the new numuseum interface today, these are the first sketches. I want to combine the different subjects (e.g. webart, photographs, etc.) in a scrollable circular interface that functions as a timeline. The black lines indicate the years (like annual rings in a tree) and the coloured lines are the subjects. The red […]

continuing numuseum design

Chronology, subject and tags will become the main interface for navigating the numuseum content. For inspiration – and because I’m a map freak – I bought this lovely book: Cartographies of Time: A History of the Timeline (view image). See the full gallery on Posterous

wrist interface

Pressure point interface with SMD-LED’s. Not sure why the LED’s don’t light up when I power them with 1,2 volt…?

thermochromic interface

A variation on a pressure point interface using black thermochromic ink on a ring of fluorescent fabric. Glued the fabric and only supply 1,5 volt power. See the full gallery on Posterous

GRS electrodes experiment

First sketch of new electrodes for e-Pressed. Galvanic Skin Response sensor electrodes made less obtrusive, hopefully. See the full gallery on Posterous

Interface design

This week I’ve worked on the interface of my air quality vest. I must say I couldn’t decide on how to solve the design of the button and the actual display. The ‘button’ is my way to interact with the sensors. By indicating if it smells good or bad. The system will measure and send […]

Interface research

As soon as I left the last meeting I started sketching and thinking about ways to work with paper. I will use my findings in the experiments I’ll be doing about low-tech air pollution logging. I also did some research about the wearable interface. As I want an intimate tool, close to the body I found […]
